Katarina Le Blanc, MD, PhD

Background of Director:

Dr. Katarina Le Blanc is a Professor of Clinical Stem Cell Research at Karolinska Institutet, Division of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, Stockholm, Sweden. She received her MD from the Karolinska Institutet in 1993 and her Ph.D. in 1999. In 2002 she became a certified specialist in haematology. Her main research interest is mesenchymal stem cells, platelet function, coagulation and venous thromboembolies, stem cell transplantation and immunology. She is a member of several international and national committees, advisory boards and scientific meetings. She has mentored many trainees, Ph.D. students and post docs. She currently has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and 15 review articles.
